The Gira X1 KNX Visualisation Server is a popular solution for residential KNX solutions offering visualisation of all datapoint types, a robust logic module, scene server and time server. Further, the commissioning tool known as ‘GPA’ (Gira Project Assistant) makes commissioning of the device easy.
Despite the popular uptake in what is truly a great product, the Gira X1 unfortunately has no graphical data logger installed by default. Thankfully Gira allows 3rd party applications to be installed directly via GPA including the SplendidMinds Xtension Nodes Application.
The Xtension Nodes Application is perpetually licenced product that can be purchased directly from SplendidMinds and allows data logging to a MicroSD card which can then be displayed via URL Call with various aesthetic altering features. The URL Call feature exists in the default X1 feature list and simply allows calling of the HTTP strings containing the live chart detail.
For installation, the application is imported into the GPA Logic Module where it sits as a number of Logic Functions. One Logic Function serves to licence the product whilst the other (main) serves to log an import (Data Point) and poll data at 10 second intervals.
