In addition to the provision and commissioning of KNX systems we can also interface with BACNET to allow third party Building Management Systems (BMS) such as TREND & SCATA to control and report on a range of additional protocols including DALI, DMX and Air Conditioners such as BOSCH, DAIKIN, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi Electric.
BACNET is a data communication protocol for building automation and control networks that was developed by a committee of the ASHRAE with the main object of standardising communication between different manufacturers hardware.
It is important to consider that KNX often carries out the same function as BACNET through the use of direct communication gateways such as KNX to Panasonic AV. For this reason BACNET is often not necessary but commonly used within commercial buildings as majority BMS will be familiar with BACNET. It is also important to note that communication between systems such as TREND and KNX can be carried out directly without the need for BACNET but the secondary mode of communicate can be provided.
